What Is Territory War?
Territory War is the traditional turn-based strategy game that makes you command small squads of stickman soldiers who are in a tactical battle against each other. Introduced in 2006 by Shawn Tanner, the game is abundantly based on the Worms formula, but with a stripped-down approach to the game, centered around positioning, timing and intelligent decision-making.

How to Play Territory War
Each match plays out in turn-based rounds. During your turn, you will choose a character and place him in the field, jump over the terrain, and take some action: you may either attack or may use your abilities that are represented by number keys.
The goal is straightforward: be the last team standing.
Key tactical elements include:
- Managing movement to avoid exposing your team
- Aiming attacks carefully to prevent friendly fire
- Using terrain and spacing to your advantage
Every decision matters. A single poorly placed move can turn the tide of the match.
Game Modes Explained
Territory War offers several ways to play, each designed for a different style of player:
Campaign Mode
Progress through structured missions that gradually introduce new challenges and scenarios.
Challenge Mode
Test your skills in specific situations designed to push your strategic thinking and precision.
Custom Battle Mode
The most flexible mode in the game. Here you can:
- Play 2-player matches with a friend
- Fight against the CPU in single-player
- Create teams with 1–6 players per side
- Choose from 6 different maps
This mode is where Territory War truly shines for replayability.
Progression, Unlocks, and Stats
As you play, Territory War tracks your performance in detail, including: Total kill, Headshots, Accuracy. You can also unlock additional stages, missions, and cosmetic hats, giving players small but satisfying rewards for continued play without overcomplicating the experience.
